Performance Optimization
Palworld's dedicated server is CPU- and memory-hungry, especially with many bases and Pals. To keep tick rate smooth:
- CPU: Palworld can be deployed from /create-server; consult the live game page for current requirements.
- RAM: memory use grows with world age and base count. Budget ~0.5 GB per active player on top of the base 4 GB, and pick 12 GB for 24–32 slots.
- Scheduled restarts: the server process leaks memory over long uptimes. Enable a daily automated restart in the dashboard (off-peak) to reclaim RAM and reduce lag spikes.
- Backups: enable automatic daily backups; always back up
Pal/Saved/before a game update, since save formats can change. - Network: port 8211 is UDP. If you use a Dedicated IP, the port stays stable through resizes so players never have to re-add the server.
Recommended Tuning (PalWorldSettings.ini)
; Reduce world-object load for large servers
CollectionObjectRespawnSpeedRate=1.500000
; Cap concurrent Pals per base to limit CPU cost
BaseCampWorkerMaxNum=15
; Keep player count matched to your plan's vCPU/RAM
ServerPlayerMaxNum=16Tips
- Auto-save interval: adjust
AutoSaveSpanin server settings (lower = safer, higher = less I/O). - Regular restarts help with memory management.
- Backup world before updating the game.
- Steam and Xbox players cannot share a server — pick the right edition before launch.
