This guide documents Factorio headless server hosting on GameHostCloud. Server configuration is written to server-settings.json and covers the server name, description, public and LAN visibility, maximum players, join password and whether players may pause the game; public listing requires Factorio.com credentials, which are stored securely by the platform. A new map is generated on first start, and existing single-player saves can be continued by uploading the save archive into the saves directory while the server is stopped and selecting it in the dashboard. Mods are installed from the official Factorio mod portal or uploaded manually, and server and client mod versions must match exactly or players will be told which mods are missing. Autosave pauses the game briefly while writing, so an interval of around fifteen minutes with five retained slots is a reasonable default, and the interval should be increased rather than autosave disabled on very large factories. Factorio uses UDP port 34197 and the console accepts the full RCON command set, including players, ban, whitelist, admin and save. Performance depends on factory size rather than player count, and single-thread CPU speed dominates. Troubleshooting covers public listing authentication, mod mismatch on join, multiplayer desyncs and saves created in a newer game version than the server runs.
