This guide documents Project Zomboid dedicated server hosting on GameHostCloud. The admin password is generated at first start and shown in the console, and should be changed immediately from the dashboard. Sandbox rules live in the SandboxVars file and control zombie population, loot rarity, day length and respawn behaviour, with the common values exposed in the Settings tab and the full file available in the File Manager; changes to zombie population only affect newly generated map cells. Steam Workshop mods require two lists that must stay in sync, the Workshop item IDs and the mod IDs, and the Mods tab keeps both aligned automatically while every player must subscribe to the same collection. Useful console commands include players, additem, checkModsNeedUpdate, save and quit, and the server should always be stopped cleanly to avoid save corruption. Project Zomboid uses UDP port 16261. Performance guidance covers memory sizing per player count, enabling PauseEmpty for idle servers, trimming unused mods and the cost of players spread across distant cells. Troubleshooting covers the server and client mod mismatch error, servers stuck loading the world after a Workshop update, connection problems and restoring from scheduled backups.
